Durbanville Kinderhuis - Contributing time and talent

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Durbanville Children’s Home! They are indispensable for the implementation of all the home’s programmes in order to ensure the best possible care for the children.

Volunteers work under staff supervision and are involved in all programmes such as:

• Management;
• Administration;
• Childcare;
• Logistics, and
• Therapy.

Fortunately all positions in the above-mentioned areas have been filled for 2010. However, volunteers are still desperately needed to assist with:

• Homework;
• Sports and recreation, and
• Transport.

Please attend a compulsory information session at Durbanville Children’s Home at 18:30 on the last Tuesday of the month from January to October if you are interested in assisting the home in any of the above areas. Application forms will be available at the sessions and the selection process will start after completion of the form.

Should you be selected, the type of voluntary work assigned to you is based on the skills you have as well as the needs of the home. Please note that weekend and holiday volunteers undergo a second selection process.
